So since the beginning of the year I have been working effortlessly to to build my rand and to find new listeners to all of my music. You know there’s always a catch right?
The problem isn’t actually gaining new listeners but actually keeping new listeners. In my private group on Facebook, Studio A, I have been tracking and sharing this idea every step of the way and it just started paying off for me…BIG TIME!
I recently just did an article and video on how to get your music heard in Facebook Groups, the concept of that article actually came from this plan to get me more listeners……Let me tell you bout it!
So I am numbers guy…Why!?…because numbers don’t lie. I challenged everyone in my group to push to build business relationships and that it. I told them to not worry about the studio, writing songs, or promotion but to just focus on building business relationships and that’s just what we did. I challenged them to build at least 10 relationships a day! I wasn’t referring small talk either I’m talking real conversations that lock in a client and partner. The key of it is to really think of them as a partner and I talk in detail about that topic specifically in this video.
So 10 people a day for a week is 70 people a week that you would have gained, the concept is that simple but it really is tough work. Everyday you may not get 10 people but only 5 but you have to make sure you make up for it the next day. As an independent artist, musician, and producer, the responsibility of our future is in our hands and this is why I stress building relationships every single day. Just imagine if you were build your fan base that large everyday? How simple is it would be to just release a product like an album and they all support you!?
You just do the math, if you were to sell an EP around $7 a unit to 70 people you would have had made a gross of $490 off of just EP sales. 70 is not the final goal but it is a great mark to start off with and it’s only 10 relationships a day.
Everyone wants new listeners!
